Puppy Love

Hello, Dear Ones! I want to share with you a little puppy love! My talented dainty fingers have been going to town all for my little tiny granddaughter, Carter. A few weeks ago I did share a few of these photos on Face Book but wanted to show you all.

Carter loved their Christmas tree so much, especially the lights, that after my daughter took off the decorations she left the tree up a while just so she could look at it. I wanted her to continue to have fun with a seasonal tree so I ordered her a little white three feet lit tree. This is not her tree but my olden feather tree so I could show you the little ornaments I've made for her.

Okay, I went to town making Valentine ornaments ~ little felt puppies and hearts to hang on her tree. I'm telling you, I have had so much fun making these little darling ornies.

The little Scottie dogs are all hot pink with ribbons around their tiny necks. I made french knots for the little eyes, stuffed the little bodies lightly and then blanket stitched all around! Then I added a little ribbon for the hanger. I got my pattern for the little dog from AllSorts blog ~ if you'd like it just click HERE. You can even make this little doggy to stand up if you'd like.

Then she had to have some hearts ~ special Valentine hearts. I just cut out a heart pattern and added some little touches of embroidery, stuffed and blanket stitched again.

A match made in felt embroidery heaven - Hearts and Puppies! I love it, don't you?

I got to watch little Carter open her box of Valentine ornaments last night on Skype and she hung all the little dogs on her tree by herself ~ all around the bottom! :) I was in Grandmother heaven!

Now my most talented dainty fingers are working on some felt Easter decorations for Carter's little tree! I just love this stuff! :)

Fruit Loops

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm still piddlin' around in my home and the other day when I showed you my breakfast room some of you said you liked the set up on my table. So, I thought I would give you a little closer look.

Here's the view of my tiny little breakfast room you saw a few week ago. I love my olden tablecloths and this blue and white one is one of my favorites! Yep, those are bottles of water you see poked under the high chair. Just keeping it real folks! :)

Fruit loops! I know it's silly, but I'm a silly! Three blue bowls filled with fruit - fruit loops! Makes sense to me. :) Do any of you remember the department store called Mervyn's department stores? Well, my son worked there for a couple of years outta high school and told me about these bowls. I went right away and purchased them. I've had these for over 20 years. They're very heavy and I bring them out occasionally.

Baby blue blow is filled with pears. Faux, of course! :) You know how I feel about my fauxs. I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me.

Mama bowl is filled with faux apples. They are so pretty and shiny!

Papa bowl is filled with mixed fruit! Hey, we could have a fruit salad couldn't we?

Now I just have to have a few yard birds scattered around. This most gorgeous couple was gifted to me by a sweet blogging friend. I think they're having a lover's spat at the moment because they're not speaking to each other.

I do hope my little couple make up soon because this silence is not golden! It's Blue, actually! :)

Celebrating The Potty

Today we are celebrating The Potty!

Yes, ma'am!

A very special green Baby Bjorn Potty.

We're celebrating because little granddaughter Carter said, "Me potty!" while pointing to the toilet.

So her mommy ran right out and purchased one ~ a very special green potty!

Observe nekked (that's Texan for naked) little one sitting on her green potty,

bruises all over her little legs from climbing and bumping all over the place.

That's all she does right now ~ just sits.

No business ~ just sitting.

Just A Piddlin'

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, I'm not doing too much at the moment. No big projects. Not even been using a can of spray paint! I guess I'm kinda resting. So I thought I'd show you a little bit of my spiffing in the dining room.

You've all seen my olden buffet before. She's scratched and a bit battered but do I care? No, no Nannette. Not in the least. She has stories to tell but she's not talking! Shoot! :) That's a very olden mirror too and it's really not dirty, you're seeing the spots where the mirroring is fading. I kinda love that!

Now I put together this floral arrangement more years ago than I would want you to know. I continually think I'll take it apart. But some how I just never do. I love the artichoke and the persimmons. So here it sits again and will probably sit here again in the future! I can be kinda boring like that you know.

Oh, I almost forgot! Mr. Precious gave me these candle sticks for Christmas. They're very simple but can be used in so many upcoming vignettes. I love them too! Can you love very simple but pretty candlesticks? Well, you bet your dripping wax you can! :) Clever, aren't I? :)

You've seen this too...an olden hand painted tea service given to me by my mother so many years ago. I do love it! Look at the dogwood blossoms. Now you may ask, can you really love an olden hand painted teas service? Well, you bet your sugar cubes you can! :)

Across the room from my olden buffet is my Little Richard. I love him too! He's holding a tea service too! This is a little sweet set my mother gave me also. She loves me you know! :)

I could offer you a cup of tea but these little cups are so little you'd take two sips and the tea would be gone!

These olden candlesticks were given to me by my aunt. She's in heaven now and I know she'd be so proud that I still use them from time to time.

Well, like I said, I'm just a piddlin' today. Not up to much. Don't have words of wisdom to leave with you ( I don't think I ever do!). Don't have a wow your tiny socks off project or even a tasty morsel to show you...just me a piddlin' in the dining room.

Circle Journal

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm so thrilled to tell you I was asked to participate in a Circle Journal group! I've never done this before but it sounded like so much fun. And you know how I love to have fun. There's 10 ladies involved.

We were to come up with a theme for our journals. Now I decided for my theme ~ 'By Hand'! Now if you know me, you know how I love to keep my tiny dainty talented fingers so busy. This would be just perfect for my journal.

I made a collage on the computer with elements that I have used 'By Hand' to create many things.

I also poked down three olden buttons on the front. I used chip board for my pages and huge 3" rings to hold them together.

This is what you see when you open up my journal. A sweet hand I found from The Graphics Fairy and a favorite scripture. The facing page is about me and why I chose my theme. You can't see it very well, but the words on the border describe 'By Hand' things like: sewing, patterns, thread, crochet, embroidery, etc.
I'm just so clever like that! :) Please know I'm kidding.

At the top I have the instructions for my fellow Circle Journalies to follow. Kind of a flip flop top! :)

I took some scrapbooking paper and sewed up a pocket on my sewing machine.

Then I've made a tag for each to decorate and added 'By Hand' for them to write their name and address on the back.

Also there's one of those sweet hands for each Circle Journalie to add to her page in my journal.

Oops! I can see my tiny little knot has untied itself. I'll have to fix that!

Flip up the flap and I've placed tiny little pictures of some of the things I've made 'By Hand'. Most of you have probably seen all of these things before.

Again, because I'm so clever, I added a little mannequin and paper pieced her a lovely frock! :)

Then it was time to make my own two page spread of my craftiness!

Oh, I embroidered this 'By Hand' and was going to use it on the front of my journal but it just didn't work the way I wanted it to. So here it is!

Sewing, crocheting, needles, embroidering graphics.

Just the cutest little square filled with sewing sayings. I love this!

You can't do any needle crafts without some scissors! :)

Here's the back of my journal. My journal will be mailed out tomorrow to a Circle Journalie and she will put her creativity to work on two pages in my journal. I'll receive a journal and will decorate two pages relating to the theme. We'll all mail a journal on the first of each month to another Circle Journalie until all the journals have made the rounds. We should get our own journals back around October and it will be filled with wonderfulness from each gal. Doesn't this sound fun?

I just may show you each month what I decide to do in each journal that comes into my most dainty fingers!

Springing Up

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm getting Spring fever even though it's not time yet! I don't care! I really enjoy Christmas and all of the Christmasing but it feels good to put it all away and start Springing up!

So I'll show you my early Springing up in my china cabinet.

My china cabinet is pretty olden. Got it back in the late 1970s. It has some little touches of burl wood on the doors and at the very top. I love that!

I had to swing open the doors wide so you can see! Just like swinging open the windows to let in a nice Spring breeze!

I pulled out my old Franciscan Desert Rose dishes and a few other little pieces. This pattern just makes me smile and if you know me ~ I just love to smile! :)

Doesn't this dish pattern just make you smile? Love the little gravy boat with it's attached underplate, sugar bowl and creamer. The little sugar bowl's lid has a little pink rose bud as the tiny little knob. I'm smiling again. That's a tiny little individual Fostoria salt/pepper in a tiny little tray. Oh, the bunny egg dish is peeping over the gravy boat and is shouting, "Look at me! Look at me!" :)

My platter and two sets of Desert Rose Salt/Peppers. The set on the right is olden and the set on the left, not so olden. But aren't they cute? Are you smiling yet? I am! :) Also I've poked down my Fostoria butter dish. Sparkly, shiny, Springy!

The green bunny tray just looks like it belongs with my old Franciscan Desert Rose dishes. Like my little salt/peppers, some of the dishes are olden ones and some are not so olden. You may ask do I care? Nah! :)
Now the napkins rings are not Franciscan, just cute with little tiny rose buds.

I've poked in three different sets of glasses. These are very olden pink depression glass.

These are very olden too and are so dainty and fragile. There's a little etching around the rim and they're pink too!

My last set of pink glasses...not so olden but very pink and swirly!

I saw the cut glass small pitcher at Marshalls a few years ago, fell in love with it and the rest is history! :)

Boo Boop Be Doop

Hello, Dear Ones! I just had to think of a different kind of title for my post today because I show you this view so very often. I love my little china hutch in the breakfast room and I change it out so often. But it's so much fun and you all know how I love to have fun. So if you don't want to see it again ~ you're excused. :)

I just love seeing some of your beautiful all over white homes but honey, I just gotta have color and by the way this snap looks ~ lots of it! ;)

Here's my little play toy hutch! All happy to be Januaried up! :) I do believe I hear some clucking and crowing going on!

I've placed some yard birds on the very top and they just love it up here!

Then I've poked down a most fun pattern of little dishes with chickens and fruit all over the shelves.

Rooster face off! I've had the amber colored Rooster for some time and while out Christmas shopping for others found the green colored one for me! :)

Here's the platter and little chicken planter filled with some of my jeweled fruit I used at Christmas time.

but oh no! I don't have a grandbaby any where! :( I keep Carter's little high chair right here for her when she comes for a visit. I found this olden high chair and painted it up all special for my Little Tiny! If you'd like to see the post of my redoing it, you can go HERE.

Southern Yumminess

Hello Dear Ones! I thought I would share with you today a wonderful little Southern Fried treat. Now I'm originally from Alabama and honey let me tell you ~ if the morsel you poked into your tiny mouth couldn't be breaded and fried, you didn't eat it! Yep, that's right! ;) And to think my grandmother used LARD!!!

Now just feast your most gorgeous peepers on these golden fried goodnesses! Yummy! Here you have some fried up cornbread fingers. These little puppies are so good!

They fry up a golden brown and are crispy on the outside and delectable on the inside.

Just poke a few on my plate and that's all I need to eat! But a little side of beans or anything else is good with them.

Well, for now I'll just eat my little cornbread fingers. I can just feel that ole Crisco running through my arteries! Um ummm! :)

Cornbread Fingers

(I usually cut the recipe in half just for Mr. Precious and me)

2 cups cornmeal

1 tsp. baking powder

3 Tbs. sugar

1/4 cup butter

1/2 tsp. salt

Combine cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add slowly to 3 1/2 cups boiling water, stirring briskly. As soon as mixture is smooth, remove from heat. Stir in butter, cool. Form into little finger shaped rolls. Fry in about 2" hot oil, 375' until golden grown. Drain on absorent paper.

Makes bout 3 dozen.

A New Toy!

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm saying "A New Toy!" like the guy did on The Price Is Right when he'd say "A New Car!" Just wanted you to know what I was thinking!

Well, my new toy started with these...

my Le Creuset pots! Mr. Precious gave me the dutch oven a few months back and for Christmas he gave me the stock pot and a matching Le Creuset tea pot! As pretty as they are, I just couldn't keep them all on my cooktop! So I said I was on the lookout for a baker's rack.

Enter Mr. Precious again. I had been to Hobby Lobby and they had their metal furniture on sale. I saw this one, told him about it and he got it for me! See why I call him Mr. Precious? :) kiss kiss...

It wasn't very expensive, it's not too big, but plenty of room for my pots and for me to play with! I just love to play!! :)

So I'll show you how I've played with it! Oh, this is so much fun! Look at the top! Had to poke my favorite Rooster up here.

I ran to Target and grabbed a couple baskets to poke on the bottom shelf. I knew I'd have to fall on my tiny knees to reach that shelf to dust and I didn't want anything to do with that, so baskets were the answer. I have a set of dishes in the first basket and salt and peppers in the second basket. I've placed matching napkins over the tops to help them stay almost dust free! I'm so clever! :)

Well, you know how it goes! You go into a store in search of something and come out with something else. That's what I did at Tuesday Mornings, looking for baskets. Didn't find any baskets but I did find this tiny little tool box and it was covered with Christmas. Cute as can be but I wanted to use it now ~ so out came the spray paint and the rest was history! Tiny and cute, napkined and Roostered! Right down my tiny alley! ;)

Oh, one more thing. The shelves are black and I could just see dust bunnies hopping all over the place so...I made shelf runners! Yes, I did... burgundy colored on one side and a red toile on the other!

If you visit me very often you may have wondered where my barrister bookcases went. Right here they are! They are very olden and we have another set upstairs in Mr. Precious' office.

I love these bookcases as they house my cookbooks! I love my cookbooks! You may ask, can you love cookbooks? Well, you bet your folding in egg whites you can! :) Here's the top and I see I must make a new runner for this to match my runners on my new baker's rack!

Now you can see where my toys are located. Those swinging doors take you into the laundry room thus why you're seeing a wire hanger up there on the hanging rack.

Yep, I've got lots of stuff crammed into this little breakfast room. My little breakfast hutch is on the other wall opposite the table.

Play and Eat

Hello Dear Ones! Do you like kitchen gadgets? Well, I do and do I have one to show you today!

My Mr. Precious is so thoughtful and he brought me a little gift ~Eggies! Just like on TV! :) I'm sure you've seen it. Boiled eggs without the shells. Sounds good to me!
Well I opened up my box of Eggies, gave them a good bubble bath and then the instructions said to add a dab of oil to each little plastic Eggies so the boiled egg would not stick. Okay, so I did it all that.
Then I carefully cracked my eggs and so slowly poured the raw eggs into the Eggies.

I carefully placed my little Eggies into my pot of water and turned on the heat! Bubble bubble, toil and trouble! See, they're boiling just fine!

Okay, out of the pot of boiling water and onto a plate. You can see some of the egg escaped. I may have not screwed the little Eggies lid on tight enough.

I have to tell you, at this point I was so excited! ;) Here I'm holding up a little Eggie with the boiled egg in it. Pretty cute, huh?

The top is unscrewed and we're almost ready! Can you feel the eggcitement! :) I'm just so clever and all! :)
You know I'm teasing, well, sort of.

Ta dah! See! A hardboiled egg without the shell and it's flat on the bottom. Pretty perfect. Flat bottomed eggs! :)

Here you can see all six hard boiled flat bottomed eggs. Aren't they cute? They can stand, well maybe that's SIT, on their own.

After all of that hard work playing with my Eggies it was time to eat my eggs and they tasted wonderful! I baked up some biscuits, poked some jam on my plate and I was off to the races! If you're wondering where the white of the egg is ~ I don't eat the whites, I just eat the yellow! I know, I know, not too healthy but the white is just too slicky in my most tiny sensitive mouth! I'm very delicate you know! ;)

Well, shoot! Now I have to wash all of these little Eggie cups. Nothing's easy is it? :)

Turning Blue

Hello, Dear Ones! Yep, that's right! I'm turning Blue. Now it's not because I'm too cold or have been holding my breath too long. It's because I've been bringing Blue into my kitchen.

I really love to decorate my deep corners in the kitchen as I can poke so much stuff there. You see? Blue.

I poked down my big ole Blue Willow platter by Churchill to be the backdrop for this Blueness. I have used my Blue biscuit jar too. It's really not vintage but it is almost 20 years old and holds tea bags.

Since I'm in my Blue Willowness mode, I just had to poke in my oil and vinegar jars. See the little black dot on the oil jar? It's a dot of paint and it's not going any where. Believe me, I've scrubbed and scrubbed until I really was Blue in the face but it did not budge!

This is an olden butter tub, I think that's what it is. I just love the scenes on Blue Willow dishes don't you?

If you visit me often, you know I love the yard birds ~ Roosters and Hens. Here is a darling little Blue hen candy dish sitting on a tiny glass stand. She looks so Blue, doesn't she? :) I just amaze myself sometimes.

Well, this is one corner in my kitchen that is just as Blue as can be. But not in a sad way. No, no Nannette! Not sad at all! :) Just so happy to be filled with Blue.

Here's my other deep kitchen corner that I poked in some more Blue.

Darling little ole Blue Rooster just looking as cute as a Blue button!

See my Blue bowl filled with Blue tea towels? Oh, my goodness! I do believe I should have ironed that front Blue tea towel as I see a wrinkle! A Blue wrinkle at that!

I'm on the lookout for some more olden dough rollers. The first one with the green handle belonged to my grandmother and she called this her 'rollin' pin'! ;) The one with the red handle came from a Thrift shop.

I love to poke large platters in to ground my little corner vignettes and this a very colorful one with some Blue!

Schooching over a little on the counter top is another little vignette filled with Blueness. I've poked down a cake stand and tossed a doily on it ~ this reminded me of pie crust dough falling over the side of a pie pan! I'm kinda crumbly like that, you know! ;) I have poked some salt and pepper shakers here by Spode, but I don't remember the pattern.

This pretty Blue and white gravy boat and underplate was a give away I won from Cass at That Old House a couple of years ago. She's so pretty and sporting a hydrangea awaiting Spring. She is such a cheerful Blue one! :)

Well, I just wanted to show you one more little vignette here in the kitchen!

I truly love love this olden vintage spice set with all of the little Roosters on the jars. Can you really love love little olden vintage spice sets with little Roosters on the jars, you may ask? Well, you bet your cockadoodledoos you can! ;)

I still have some Blueness to show you...little Blue and white napkin rings poked under a cupcake cloche sitting atop a Fostoria stemmed base. Isn't this sweet? Blue sweetness!

What? Something is just not right here! That little olden vintage spice jar is not supposed to be laying down on it's side on my countertop! No, no Nannatte!

Something is just not right! I believe I've said that before. No, no Nannette! I've said that already too, haven't I?

That little stinker! Do you see what this tiny little Rooster has done? He kicked out the spice jar and then he hopped in the opening. Well, he is really a handsome little thing, isn't he, and he has no Blue on at all! He's such a little ham. I have to tell you that this little tiny Rooster and Hen were given to me by Ceekay from Thinking of Home. Aren't bloggers the most sweetest Blue ones ever?

January Mantel

Hello, Dear Ones! I've finally got all of my Christmasing put up! But then I turn around and see something I missed! I'm going to have to buy a bin just for my little Christmasing leftovers! :) Do you do that too?

Well, I've been trying to get my home back in order and thought I would show you my mantel.

Kinda January and wintry looking although it's 70 degrees and feels like a spring day outside. I'm still turning on the air conditioning! :)

I was going to go a little simple on my mantel but I just couldn't do it.

No, no, Nannette! I could not do it! So I just poked stuff up on it until I ran out of room! :)

I know you've seen my urns with the topiaries many times before. I found these urns at Home Goods many years ago. They are supposed to be twins and are hand painted but as you can see, they are not identical twinkies! But I still love 'em!

Now how do you like my new cardinal? Isn't he beautiful? Pretty little cardinal perched on a fence post sitting on my mantel! I love it.

He's a very proud bird too, as you can see!

Hear him singing? I just love his little cardinal note songs! :)

Now you know I like to be truthful, so I must confess. This cardinal was not supposed to be mine! Again...no, no Nannette! Let me tell you a little story and you know how I love to tell you little stories. :)
Mr. Precious had come home with some Christmas gifts for family members and Mr. Cardinal was in the bag! I saw it and just screamed my most tiny head off! "Oh, I love him!" I exclaimed as he ran out of sight. "You know how I love birds and he'll look so good in the den!" Mr. Precious just looked at me and said, "Oh, I bought this for_____! You really like it?" "Do dogs like bones?" I asked! My tiny heart sank, and I'm just sure I started to cry, lips tremblin' and all. You know the drill. "Well, if you like him that much - he's yours!" Then he hugged me and I hugged him back as my lips were trying so hard to stay closed around my most pearly whites smiling underneath! ;) I've got that man wrapped around my...:)

Okay, enough true confessions. On each side of my cardinal I tossed down some wintry greens.

I also poked in some pine cones and fruit and I was done!

So there you have it...my January mantel and my true confession for the week! :)

Hello, Dear Ones. Yep, that's what I said and that's what I did ~ Cheat! Cheat! I've kinda cheated on my tablescape today. You've seen this tablescape, almost, before. I've just changed a few things and hope this will qualify me and that I won't be kicked out of the tablescapeing world! :(

Here we are in my little breakfast room again...same table and chairs...

I ripped off the red tablecloth and added doilies to act as the place mats. I'm not cheating yet.

I've used the same cheap, um, I mean inexpensive dishes from Target ~ and you cry "Cheat! Cheat!"

Let the cheating continue as I have used the same festive, but not Christmasy napkins.

I did use different napkin rings and I sigh as I escaped the cheating game on this element. It is a pretty napkin ring, don't you think? :)

I'm still sighing for a moment.

Okay, things are looking up as I used different glasses. Some every day green ones.

Oops, I've done it again! Cheat! Cheat! I just love my little Lenox tree under glass and didn't even take it off the table. No, no Nannette, I did not!

Fairy Dust!

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm so excited to tell you my home is filled with fairy dust!

Yes, ma'am!

There's fairy dust on the floor, on the tops of my tables,

on the bottom of my tootsies and on my most gorgeous face!

What? It's not fairy dust? (as I blink my baby blues)

Um, well, it just may be glitter as I'm busy taking down all of my Christmasing!

Shoot! There goes my fantasy!

But I do have something to share.

I received a gift from God and my lemon tree...

Ta dah...!

About 2 dozen yellow lemons!

It's such a treat to gather the fruit at Christmas time.

Thank you, God!

I never have never figured out why my lemons get those little picks all over them.

I don't think the birds peck my lemons, but maybe they do.

It could be the thorns on the bushes. Don't know.

So after a nice soapy bath, I sliced one of my lemons so show you how pretty they are.

These puppies are BIG too and soooo juicy!

The smell is so heavenly. Take a whiff..

Sniff sniff sniff...

Yes, ma'am. That smell is sunshine to your nose.

I'll see you in a few day when I get all of the fairy dust, I mean glitter, cleaned up!

Oh, Bring Us a Figgy Pudding

Hello, Dear Ones! First I want to thank you all again as to how much you mean to me! Thank you for your kind words and prayers for our little grandbaby, Carter. As I type this, she has just left the hospital and is on her way home. She had a good night and they couldn't find anything just something viral and that fever. Hallelujah, praise God and blessings to you all! Now I feel I can breath again...

Okay, now on to the silly me...

Here we are in my little breakfast room and you've seen some of it already in my home tour but I hadn't shown you my table. It had a centerpiece of nutcrackers on it. But I didn't show it because Mr. Precious and Chloe Dawn had poked other things, not table related, all over it. Now you know it wasn't me who poked unrelated table things on it! :) Just sayin'...

So I had to make room in my little hutch, mainly on the top shelf, for the nutcrackers and they seem very happy here.

Now I can show you my table and please notice...no unrelated table items will your most gorgeous peepers peek!

First is my centerpiece with a tiny little Lenox Christmas tree poked under a cloche. Also a few sprinkled Christmas balls.

Just the cutest little tree I've had for many many years.

I threw down a red tablecloth and used my cheap, um, I mean inexpensive Christmas dishes I found at Target many years ago.

I liked them so much, I bought enough place settings for 24 people! I'm prepared for holiday parties! No paper plates for me. No, no Nanette!

I just love my little Christmas tree napkin rings. Got em at a thrift shop years ago. Cute as pumpkin pie, don't you think? :) Now you may ask, can you love little Christmas tree napkin rings? You bet your pine needles you can! :) I've used some napkins that are Christmasy but not Christmas. Make sense? ;)

My stemware gets used over and over again. I love them too and they just seem to go with everything.

Right now these glasses are pretending to be ice! Brrr...you know how stemware can be! :)

We Had A Scare This Morning

Dear Ones, some of you know what happened this morning from my comment on Facebook asking for your prayers, but I wanted to share this with those of you who may not know.

My son in law called me this morning and informed me they were in the ER with our little granddaughter, Carter, who is 21 months old. She's had a runny nose, cough and fever for about a week. You know how little ones are, they get sick and get better and play, fever comes back...

Well, she had a bad night not sleeping, fever rising. This morning her fever popped up very high and she lost consciousness in my son in law's arms. They called 911 and the ambulance came to take her to the hospital. He said they were working with her and were getting her fever down but she was just lethargic. Needless to say our daughter was so upset and crying so hard. My heart just broke into pieces!

My husband and I felt so helpless. Many of you know they live in upper New York and my husband was searching for a flight. One of our precious ones offered to get us to New York! I just cried at the love. They had taken a chest xray, blood work and other things and all the results came back normal! Praise God! They said it was probably viral.

Her fever came down and our daughter said the doctors wanted to keep her over night in case her fever started rising again. I was so glad for that.

Well, technology as it is, made me very happy as we Skyped with her in her hospital room tonight. Bless her little heart! When she saw us she held up her bottle so we could see it. She talked a little bit to us but looked so worn out. They had put an IV in her little arm and taped her arm to a board and then had put a sock over it so she wouldn't mess with it! Her daddy had brought her some Veggie Tales toys and she was shaking them at us!

Just spoke with my daughter and she was holding little Carter and she was asleep now. My daughter and son in law are staying the night with Carter in her hospital room. Her fever had risen again but again they were able to get it down. I know they are just worn out.

I want to thank you all for your love, concern and prayers for my little granddaughter. I love her so much (I know all you grandmothers know how I feel).

So...I just haven't felt like visiting much today as I felt the wind was knocked out of me. But...I am so grateful to my God for His awesome power and answered prayer. Again, I thank you all so much for the prayers and I really do love you.

Top Projects of 2011

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm excited to join Rhoda at Southern Hospitality for her Top Projects of 2011 Party ~ Wednesday, December 28! So pop on over to Rhoda's, after you look at my projects of course :), and you'll be so inspired!!

So on with my tiny projects...

I took this olden chest, I think it was a child's dresser at one time as it has the holes in the back where a mirror was attached and it's not very tall, from this...

to this...I think she turned out very sweet. I painted her with Behr Premium Plus - Parchment Paper and glazed her up a bit. Yes, she is a girl, can't you tell? and I named her Charlotte!

Then my most talented tiny delicate fingers went to work with fabric, thread, yarn and needles.

I decided to spread some Christmas cheer onto a red pillow for my den. I made a Christmas tree with fabric yo yos. I cheated and hot glued down the yo yos instead of sewing them down. Shh...don't tell :)

Then my dainty talented fingers almost fell off as I picked up some yarn and hooks and crocheted and crocheted and crocheted some more making this afghan for my daughter and son in law for Christmas.

I have only one little tiny granddaughter and it was her turn to receive some hand made goodies from my tiny talented delicate fingers! I could not stop crocheting...so I made her a frog.

Then my tiny delicate fingers made her a pony.

My tiny delicate fingers continued and made her a little bitty doggy! Whew! My tiny delicate talented fingers almost fell off! I kid you not!

Earlier in the year I crocheted some chicken pot holders, even made some for a give away. I love them and my tiny delicate fingers loved making these! These little gals are cute, aren't they? :)

Then I took to my sewing machine with my tiny delicate talented fingers and sewed up a spring time runner for my dining table, ruffles and all.

Then I decided I would 'slip cover' my sofa pillows in the den! Back to the sewing machine and my tiny delicate fingers went to work sewing!

Then I decided to get out my embroidery hoop, floss and needles and go to town! I embroidered this runner to sit on top of Charlotte! Just a southern gal embroidering a southern gal!

Hello, Dear Ones! I just want you all to know how much I have enjoyed visiting your Christmas homes, seeing your decorations, drooling over your most delicious looking foods, wanting to copy cat your crafts, and reading about your Christmas family traditions.

But let us not forget the Reason we celebrate Christmas ~

The birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

I have a few Nativity sets and I love to set them up in my living room.

Some are expensive and some are not but the theme is the same ~

the celebration of our Savior's birth.

This is a very sweet one. All the pieces are little boxes.

I do believe the Joy of Christmas is inside each one.

Sweet little Jesus boy, lying in a manger.

Sweet little Holy Child...

This one I purchased over 20 years ago for my mother.

When she downsized to a retirement home, she gave it back to me.

I love it.

This is truly my favorite Nativity.

It is an Italian set by Fontanini that I've had for many many years.

Just a beautiful Nativity of a glorious celebration.

This one plays music.

And this little angel is joining in with her horn.

I'm Still Christmasing With You and a Give Away!

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, I hope you don't mind but I wanted to show you a little more of my dining room ~ all ready for Christmas. I'm just a bit shy to show you my room after showing you my friend's beautiful home. I'm so glad you all liked it!

This is the view you saw in my Christmas home tour.

Here's a peep looking from the kitchen.

I kept all my white dishes in my china cabinet that I had during the fall. I just took out the fall things and poked in some Christmas things.

Here's a little view at the top! I poked up those three big balls and added a ribbon. I liked how it looked.

Here's a little peep at the inside of my china cabinet. This china cabinet is so special to me. When we lived in Roswell, New Mexico, I bought this from a friend who owned a furniture store and she was my best friend. It was my very first ever china cabinet.

You've seen this side of the dining room with my olden buffet dressed up for Christmas.

Then there's this side with Little Richard decked out for Christmas, too!

Here's my table softly Christmasing.

I poked down a very olden white tablecloth and then the fun began. You know how I'm all about the fun! :)

I used my Haviland Blue Garland dishes, white napkins and blingy napkin ring.

Here's my centerpiece. If you visit me often, you'll recognize this little piece of milk glass. I just love this and use it so much. I poked in blue and silver balls to match the blue in my dishes and the silver trim.

Can you see my little salt cellars I'm using with the tiny little spoons? There's not salt in them yet though.

The sugar and creamer are so pretty, I think. I love all the frilliness of the design! Can you love all the frilliness of design of a little sugar and creamer? You bet you scratchy petticoats you can! :)

The salt and peppers with the covered casserole in the background. Silver and blue looks icy to me.

Blue, white and silver spells cold! Are you getting a chill yet?

I poked down my little silver sugar scuttle but alas, I don't have the scoop so I use a little sugar spoon. That works.

I'm using my crystal glasses with a candy cane poked into the tea glass. I just love this! Can you love a crystal glass with a candy cane poked into it? Well, you bet your ho ho hos you can! :)

Just in case someone wants butter on their roll I'm using my olden Fostoria butter dish. That's a little butter knife propped up against the butter dish in case you're wondering.

There you have it ~ every inch of my dining room. Now I've got to start cooking so I can poke down some food on those dishes! :)

Christmas Playing

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, I thought I would show you my little Christmas breakfast room a little bit more up close and personal...

I change out this little hutch almost as many times as I change my tiny shoes! :) Well, maybe not that often but you understand! :) This is one of my favorite play toys.

I shared this snap in my Christmas home tour. You can see on the top my lit garland, the little couple - that's Mr. Precious and me! I'm the one with wings! :) Then I poked up a couple of these black spindly thingys - gotta love 'em.

Here you can see where my little hutch's wall is in relation to the rest of my house. To the left you can see the door leading into my den and my little Duncan Phyfe table with my Christmas balls under cloches, then you can see the wainscoting of my entry and then the opening into the living room.

Now we're getting to that up close and personal stuff! I placed a little white bowl atop of some red plates and poked the little bowl full of Santie ornaments! You have to be careful when you poke a little white bowl full of Santies because they are constantly comparing their lists and checking them twice! I tell you, this will keep you up at night with all that talking! :)

Well, this Santie seems to have escaped the little white bowl, made it to another shelf and hopped into a cranberry glass bowl. Look at his face! He looks a bit confused! Comparing those lists will do it every time, I'm just sure of it!

Here's a little snow globe I've had for years with a Santie on his way. Now he doesn't look confused at all. In the fuzz behind him is another little snow globe with a little tiny snowman in it.

This is a wooden Santie who is hanging down from the lit garland. Now he looks very content. He knew better than to get mixed up in that bowl with the other competitive Santies! :) Just sayin'...

Here we have a little Mr. and Mrs. Claus votive holder. I just think they are as cute as pie, don't you?

No fun is funner than placing my little faux Chloe Dawn in my happy Christmas hutch! Now don't y'all think I'm confused and in need of medication. I know this is probably a little Scottie, but this little doggy looks so much like Chloe Dawn! I just love it! She's so excited and waiting to hear if she's been naughty of nice from the Santies' lists.

Now you all know my little tiny granddaughter, Carter, lives far away and won't get to be with us for Christmas. So...I've placed a substitute in her little high chair...Miss Bunny Foo Foo, all dressed up in her Christmas finery. She's cute, she's soft, but she can't say Gwa ( that means Gran in Cartertalk).

Bunny Foo Foo is all ready for me to read her a book. She's picked The 12 Days of Christmas. This book belonged to my daughter when she was a little girl. So I'll gran Bunny Foo Foo and bit and then I'll get on Skype and visit with little Carter! :)

Now this is off the subject, but I've been stubborn and have not wanted to switch over to the New Editor in blogger. I've just been content all of this time with the old version. Well, I've noticed in the past week when I click on your profile pages - things have changed a bit. Didn't think anything of it.

Well, I went to set up a new post today and my old editor version had changed! I just couldn't work with it. Where did all my little buttons go? I was frustrated and was getting angry! I hate that! Then I went and looked at the New Editor and clicked on it and saved it. I was scared! I was so afraid. Then I realized I could upload a bunch of snaps at one time and then I could just click on the size I wanted and wouldn't have to go into the html and adjust the size myself. The New Editor seems so much easier to work with as a while back when I tried it, I had so much trouble with the spacing. I think they've worked it all out.

You're all probably laughing at me and thinking, this gal is so behind! Well, I guess I am. But I want you to know I've jumped on the New Editor band wagon now. Just sayin...

Wonderful Christmas Time

Hello, Dear Ones! Are you finished with your Christmas decorating yet? It's work but it sure is fun! My tongue is just hanging out from running over here to look at your house and running over there to look at your house...but keep up the Chrsitmasing because I'm loving it.

I want to bring you into the den and show you the vignette I've set up on my little Duncan Phyfe drop leaf table. I did show this table in my Christmas home tour but not up close. I love this little table.

I poked down a red runner and grabbed three cloches. I was off!

Threw down some lighted greens to brighten the path. Tossed in some pine cones, berry picks and a sparkly garland. Just like the floor of the forest. I'm loving this!

Nothing fancy under my cloches, just lots of Christmas balls here. You all know I say 'balls'! :)

Christmas Home Tour 2011

Hello, Dear Ones! Aren't these Christmas parties so much fun? Well, I wanted to jump in with my home tour too. So we'll start at the front doors...which most of you have already seen.

Peek-a-boo Chloe Dawn! :) My fuzzy faced baby!

As you step inside the entry you'll see my Christmas tree.

A peep into my Christmas living room, very simple and filled will my Nativity sets. Oh, just so you'll know ~ those Christmas pillows travel around the house! :)

The Christmas sun was shining through the windows when I snapped these. I have Nativites on both these tables.

We leave the living room, cross the entry floor and now we're in my dining room, decked simply for Christmas. Well, the table has exploded a little!

Here is my little hutch in the breakfast room. You will notice the high chair, with no grandbaby. But this little Christmas bunny, which I made about 20 years ago, will just have to do for now. :(

So many of you liked this side of the kitchen filled with snow, I thought I'd show it to you again.

I got a little more festive in the den. We spend most of our time in here ~ watching TV and blogging!

If you visit me very often, you'll notice my dog house looks a little funny. Mr. Precious decided to fill it with crystal pieces and scattered in my Staffordshire pups. Well, I've just been too busy with Christmasing to rearrange it at the moment.

Here on top of Mr. Precious' TV set is a little village. I got this little Cat's Meow Village at a blog auction last year ~ how cute.

There you see my Crystal Bar...no drinkie poohs, just crystal pieces. But at Christmas time it's filled with a snow scene and you've seen my copy cat wreath, if not you can see it here.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful...I can't help myself...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! :)

Oh, and I can't forget the powder room ~ angels to watch over us. Yes, ma'am! :)

Kitchen Christmasing

Hello, Dear Ones! Are you having fun like me popping into all of the Christmas parties? I'm trying to catch my tiny breath and grab my posts and pop in to the next party! :) I'm getting so much inspiration and want to change everything I've done after seeing what you've done! :) Y'all keep me on my tiny decorating toes!

Okay, here we are in my kitchen and I've made a little piece to sit on my counter top. I'll tell you more about it in another post.

This is the snowy side of my kitchen, filled with snowmen. Brr...do you feel the chill? But it's a good kind of chill! Do you see that little Coca Cola Santie tray? Well, I've had this since I was a little girl. Used to leave Santie's cookies and milk on it when I was little.

Snowball heads filled with candy canes and I've also brought out my little snowball head spreaders. I know they're snowman heads, but I like to say snowball heads! :)

Here's a snowy looking Santie and a little bubble light night light.

A bubble light snowman night light helps to make my kitchen shiny and bright.

This is the baking side of the kitchen. It's warm over here! :) I've set up a little vignette here...baking cookies vignette that is. I've had the little gingerbread cook for many years and she over sees the baking. She has a little assistant but he's hung up at the moment! :) I'm so funny! :)

I saw a beautiful vignette that Debbie at A Debbie-Dabble had put together! You can just get lost seeing all of her pretties and how she displays them. She showed her kitchen and had the most adorable green jade bowl filled with cookie cutters. This is my version of hers. Those are cookie cutters from my childhood and a few from when my children were very young.

I just love these olden dough rollers, the green handled one belonged to my grandma and the red handled one I got from GW for 99 cents! Yay me!

Here's my window sill over the sink. Very simple Chrismasing here.

I found these little bottle brush trees at Walmart. They're really ornaments and had hangers where you see the little metal loop. I cut them off and poked them up here. Aren't they cute?

Then my wire reindeer basket begged to come sit on the window sill. Usually he's in the bathroom with pine cones! ;) I poked in Christmas balls and there you have it! :) He just looks out the window. I think he loves the sunshine! ;)

One more vignette. This area, the top of the lawyer bookcase, stays pretty much the same. I poked in a Christmas ball in the ceramic fruit basket, tossed down some berry garland and Christmas balls around my main yard bird! :)

Hello, Dear Ones. I wanted to show you what I did with our front doors. If you remember, I used the poly deco mesh on my Christmas tree and had some left over. I poked a lighted garland up over my front doors and added the left over deco mesh.

If you'll look closely you'll see a tiny little fuzzy black face trying to come out of the left door! Chloe Dawn's little nose is poking out!

I had just a tad of the red deco mesh left so I added a bowlike thingy in the center of my garland. Kind of an unibrow garland! :)

Then I added Christmas balls! I went to the dollar store and found these. They're plastic and they won't break when the wind blows. I attached them with some branchy pipe cleaners so the Christmas balls could hang down!

Then I couldn't leave well enough alone. I had my two wreaths on the door with some golden looking balls. With the teeny little bit of deco mesh left, I poked the mesh into the wreath and added a red sort of bow in the center to match the garland!

Just so you'll know, Chloe Dawn did escape into the front yard...sniffing where all of the neighborhood dogs leave their calling cards! :)

Hello, Dear Ones! Do you love Pinterest? I sure do and I'm sure if you love Pinterest you've seen this most gorgeous wreath! :)

I swooned when I saw it. Well...

Years ago I had seen an episode of Room by Room on HGTV and Shari (oh, how I miss those wonderful shows!) was making one of these wreaths with plastic balls and so I made one for myself. I bought a Styrofoam wreath, wrapped it with white ribbon and began hot gluing on plastic balls that wouldn't break. I bring it out each Christmas. I had a brilliant idea ~

I made my own version of the Pinterest wreath. I didn't have a white wreath so I just took my green wreath outside and sprayed it with white spray paint! Instantly my green wreath was now snow kissed! :) I was loving this stuff!

Then I took my plastic unbreakable wreath and tied it onto my newly white snow kissed wreath!

Oh, I was getting so excited!!

I like lots of color in my home so I knew I couldn't put on a pastel colored ribbon. I grabbed a spool of red sparkly ribbon and went to town making a bow! A big fat sparkly Christmas bow.

Almost done! My last step was to rescue a little birdie who was hiding in a drawer. She's nesting on the red bow now, having a glorious time and whistling "White Christmas"!

I just want you to know ~ I love Blogland too and I'm a copy cat and if I see something of yours I love, I just may copy it too! :) Hope you don't mind. The inspiration is amazing and now there's Pinterest. No wonder I can't get to bed at an appropriate time! :)

My Christmas Mantel

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, it's time to show you my mantel. I have the hardest time with my mantel. I never know what I'm going to do until I start and then I just go with it.

I hung my garland first and started poking things into it. I was beginning to like it. I decided to go with pine cones and fruits!

Here's a very tall peep of my mantel. Well, it's short me snapping while I'm up on a ladder! :)

Lights. I just love little tiny Christmas lights.

I don't have a lot of space above my mantel so my very plain olden mirror hangs here all the time. I had these two large pretty picks and wired them together, tied a bow around them, twirled the tails and I was on a roll! ;)

Then I grabbed a glass cake stand and poked a big glass vase on top filled with pine cones, added a little pick and red berries.

Then I remembered I had a little wreath with pine cones and fruit on it. I put it around the base of the glass vase filled with pine cones.

I added these cute little candlesticks on each side with frosty looking green candles. I also added little pine cones and fruit candle rings. You would have thought I had planned all of this! I just amazed myself! :)

Then for the center of my lighted garland I began to poke in fruit picks and pine cone picks! :)

I kept poking things in, added some more berries and more little picks.

The center of my garland was getting pretty full. Hope it doesn't fall down! :)

I think I like it. Do you? Is it gawdy? I hope not.

Well, I just couldn't stop myself. I added some little glass red pine cone ornaments.

There you have it ~ my mantle ready for Christmas. I can't wait to see yours!

Debbie Doos Holiday Copycat Party

I keep lots of my magazines, do you? Well, I just loved Mary Englebreit's Home Companion and just miss it so much. See how long I've had this one ~ 2002 ~ I do have older ones too. Well, I loved this article and...

I fell in love with this page and I thought ~ I'm half way there to the copycat party! I have an olden sideboard with a mirror hung over it and plates hanging on the wall around it! My copycat inspiration!

Here's my copycat version. My mirror is horizontal while my inspie mirror is verticle. The mirror in the inspie is so gorgeous and mine is rather plain and olden. But I like my hanging plates much better! Try as I may, I couldn't get my chandy out of my snap!

Okay, I got a snap without the chandy, but you can't see the plates. You know they're there though! ;) I didn't have chunky candles like my inspie so I used what I had and added a couple of little round ones in sherbet glasses.

I just had to show you this snap. As I said, my mirror is very olden and the mirroring is going away in spots. Somehow I managed to place my candles just at the right spot and the going away mirroring looks like frost on a window! I'm more creative than I even thought! :) You know I'm teasing!

Here's a snap with the lights turned down low. There are my candle flames looking like stars! I love that!

I placed a bottle of wine in my ice bucket, didn't have a pail like my inspie did. Poked down a Christmasy looking napkin ~ prettier than my inspie! ;)

This is my take on the pots with greens ~ my candles with Christmas candle rings. That'll work won't it? I poked down some of my jeweled and faux fruit too.

I have to tell you a little story and you know how I love to tell you little stories, although it's a little bit embarrassing! If you look at the inspie on the left hand bottom side between the pot with the greens and the white candle, there's a tiny little reindeer. I saw a reindeer head complete with antlers. I did! I really did! I ran all over the house but alas, I had no tiny reindeer. But I had a donkey which I borrowed from a Nativity! :) I'm so talented like that! I was so pleased with myself. THEN...after I took the photo of my inspie page, I zoomed in and THERE IS NO REINDEER! It's just fruit and leaves! My most gorgeous baby blues are really failing me. Well, said donkey is staying! Hope this won't be held against me! :)

I ran right outside and chopped a few springs off my bush for my base greens and placed them all around.

I had to leave you with this snap of candle light!
