I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
I Want A Happopotamus for Christmas
(I think this song is a hoot!)
(I think this song is a hoot!)
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that's the easy thing to do
I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too
(Short Music Interlude)
Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian
(Short Music Interlude)
There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage
I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!

G'eve, Shelia ~ I didn't realize you got the nightlight. When I saw that fabric I said 'Shelia!' literally, in the store. I am glad to see you are enjoying it ... Thru the darkness, shine a little light on me! May it guide your steps safely ...
ReplyDeleteYour home is scrumptious, sweet friend. I don't know where to begin to tell you which I like most ... I love ALL of it.
Merry Christmas hugs, TTFN ~Marydon
Sheila,
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! Where do I start?!
Your house is just stunning, starting with the entry way. I love your taaaaaaaaaaaal tree. It is breathtaking!
And the mantle in your den is gorgeous. Your den looks so inviting and cozy. I like the way you covered the backs of the hutch with that foam board. That turned out really nice and all your "pretties" show up so well now. I love the ornament wreath you made too. Girl, you are so ahead of your time!
I love all the colors in the wreath!
And of course, thanks for sharing my little ornament. It makes my heart sing to see it displayed in your home. It's like there's a little bit of me there with you!
Thanks for opening up your beautiful home to us, and of course your beautiful heart as well. You are a sweetie!
Traci
Hi, Sheila,
ReplyDeleteWell, I just love your decorating style, and your house is so pretty. I always love your sunroom. Thanks for the tour!
D
Wow, its all gorgeous!! What a great tour! The ornament wreath is spectacular! It's all beautiful, thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteOh Shelia, What a fantastic, fun, fabulous tour of your Christmas BLING in your beautiful home! Gorgeous, all of it ... but I really LOVE the front door pictures with Chloe Dawn standing guard, or hostess, as the case may be. So cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the living room's chairs and sofa - they don't match but I love that! It looks very chic, and "English cottage-y" -- like it's in a magazine. :-)
Merry Christmas, my dear!
Cass
Isn't it funny what we pick up in a post. We have the same chime clock. But mine quit working. It seems to get stuck on a certain time. I really have got to find a clock doctor....
ReplyDeleteYour ornies are so pretty. My daughter loves those painted inside ornies.
Shelia... I loved this entire post, and I enjoyed seeing it all! And your tree is magnificent. I can't believe how tall and majestic it is! I love all of your decorations, too, and I would never have known those ornaments were the "p" word on that ornament wreath. P stands for Pretty because it is that! Very pretty, indeed.
ReplyDeleteAnd that Chloe Dawn in the last shot is so precious and in the other shot, too. I love her!
Enjoyed all of your Christmas goodies and congrats on your blog present. That is a precious light.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Chloe is the cutest thing there and you've got some beautiful things! So cute how she is watching through the glass doors! I love that den..so pretty! Now when are we going to sit at the piano together and sing?! I would love that! Come say hi :D
ReplyDeleteSheila- your home is just beautiful!! I love the entry way all those sparkly lights your dear hubby put up for you (mine will hopefully get ours up tomorrow- it has been so very windy here)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE your piano area and your sunroom is just precious! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Just stopping by to say goodnight. I love visiting. I love how your shell wreath felt lonely for Christmas bling. Mister sends a paw shake to Chloe Dawn.
ReplyDeleteXX 00
WOW, Shelia - what a gorgeous Christmas home you have! Your tree is spectacular! I don't think I've ever seen one that tall! I love everything you have done - and I especially love your MET idea about the foam core board for the back of a hutch or whatnot! I just posted about being afraid of color, and that would be a good, non-permanent way of me getting some color into our little cottage! I may borrow that idea from you in the New Year!! Merry Christmas to you!... Donna
ReplyDeleteOh Shelia. What a beautiful post and what a beautiful home you have. And you know what I like most, your wreath with all the different Christmas balls. That is gorgeous. I am going to see if I can make one too, I will start with a little one. LOL Thank you for sharing and showing your beautiful home
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
Dear Shelia

ReplyDeleteGorgeous gorgeous gorgeous post, Shelia!!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful inside and out. Your tree is amazing!!!
Take care,
Carolyn
What a wonderful post to start my morning with...LOVE your sweet doggie. Our oldest daughter and I made an ornament wreath for her this year. I bought enough to make a 5 foot tree like I had seen at a hotel on the Country Club Plaza but alas did not get it made yet. Your home is lovely! I especially was drawn to the ornaments painted on the inside...what treasures. Thanks for letting us peek into your home. Hope you have a grand day!
ReplyDeleteOops...I forgot. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED that you posted that silly little song...my family calls me when they hear it playing and let me listen along...it just makes me happy for some reason.

Shelia, your home is just unbelievably beautiful! You have pretty little touches everywhere. You know how much I love that sunporch! I could marry it!
ReplyDeleteYour piano is to die for! One of these days you need to get Mr. Note Songs to record you actually playing so we can hear you.
Did you know the hippopotamus song was actually sung by Gayla Peevey to raise funds to buy a real hippo for the Oklahoma City Zoo? Neato huh.
Merry Christmas!
Wow your house is very beautiful inside. Your Christmas decorations are very pretty too wow...Happy blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sheila. I love the outside of your home twinkling with lights. Then precious Chloe Dawn watching you through the door. All you have shown is awesome. I could look at your decor Christmas or otherwise every day and still enjoy it all.
ReplyDeleteThe painted inside ornaments are amazing. I studied every one I could see. No wonder you collect them. Awesome.
Love the hippo song too. It was fun to read the comment about the song being created for a zoo that needed a hippo. You can learn lots reading these blog comments.
Hugs xoxo, Jeanne

ReplyDeleteI'm glsd I'm not the only one who misses the "good old days" of HGTV
ReplyDeleteThose were some great shows back when
Your home is filled with so many beautiful things and I'm sure all of them hold special memories for you. The wreath you made of shiny balls is really pretty. And I like all the snowmen you have gathered on the shelf. Thanks for sharing all the pictures with us. You are so inspirational.
ReplyDeleteWow, so much eye candy I don't know where to start!
ReplyDeleteYour home is just beautiful and I love all your Christmassy touches! The ornament wreath is fabulous! Yes, I miss Mary (have you been to her website) she said she tried to get the mag restarted but now is not the time with the way the economy is. I miss that magazine there really isn't another one
like it out there now.
The nightlite is so cute and just perfect for you!
I tried to find an email for you but I don't see one. As to commenting, don't be too hard on the "mega bloggers". I find it very very difficult to get to people even once a week so I can imagine how it is for them. Most of those bloggers post every day and every day they have 30+ comments. That's alot of people to get to and take care of your kids and your house and life in general. Although there are certain ones that I rarely ever see commenting. But since people keep going to their blogs anyway, it must not be an issue.
Manuela
Oh Shelia, what a treat! Your home, all "Christmasfied" is absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful decorations with us at MM. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it all! So beautiful! It all looks so festive! I am stopping by from Nester's tour. If you want to see my tour, click on the 'Christmas 2009' tag on the left sidebar of my blog to see my Christmas decorating posts! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSheila,
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind! But, I'm so glad I' stopped in to visit with you. Your home is decorated so beautifully for the holidays. I love it all! However, I have to say the one thing I REALLY love is that beautiful piano! I wish it was mine and that I had never stopped piano training as a young girl...what a regret! It's just beautiful.
